Where We Were

Our incredible honeymoon took us to: Helsinki, Finland; Stockholm, Sweden; Copenhagen, Denmark; Oslo, Norway; Reykjavik, Iceland.

How This Works

Scott's observations, quips, and witticisms will appear in this font in this color.

Liz's comments, thoughts, musings, and general cleverness will appear in this font in this color. We'll put up a joint post for each day of the trip. Seems simple enough to everyone, right? (haha,
I just assumed that not just one but more than one person will actually read this!). BTW, I totally stole this method of identifying multiple narrators (at least the use of different fonts) from author Jodi Picoult.

The nature of the blog is quite simple: we both kept journals each day of our incredible honeymoon to document our activities and our thoughts on the experience. Well, truthfully, Scott faithfully kept a journal every day, whereas I scribbled a play-by-play to jog my memory, transitioned in our last week to typing my thoughts out so that I would actually expand on things, and eventually giving up on the journal two days before returning home. So, Scott's writings are more an honest representation of his thoughts during the trip, whereas my writings are based on reflections after the fact.

I suppose we could have started and kept this blog while we were actually traveling, since we did have a computer and Internet access most of the time. Somehow, though, that seemed far less romantic than writing by hand in little journals each night in our cozy (and sometimes downright strange) European hotel rooms. Plus we wanted to stay mostly off the grid during our trip, and blogging would have kept us far too connected to everyone at home. Also, I'm profoundly anal-retentive and knew I would waste precious Euro-time formatting and editing a blog!
